I’m Carina, and I was always picked last in games – hence the name. I’ve taken on the challenge of the super-sprint distance Virgin London Triathlon, taking place on 23rd September 2012. That’s a 400m swim, 10k cycle and 2.5k run, in that order.
As I start this blog, I cycle 3 miles to work and back again each day; I can run (for the bus if necessary) but not far; I used to be a good swimmer, but I haven’t been in the water for ages, except for paddling about on holidays. It’s all well and good being ‘ok’ at these things, but when you have to do them all, back to back, in one go – that’s another thing entirely.
The next six months are going to be an interesting foray into the world of tri-suits, transitions and training – can’t wait.
